Old Farms Skiers – Membership Policy

Membership in the Old Farms Skiers Water Ski Club is limited to 30 skiing members (excluding the Hutch Haines family).

Memberships in the club run from October 1st to September 30th each year.

The skier shall be named for each skiing membership on or before October 1st of each year.  Any changes in skiing members shall be subject to approval of the club by means of a vote of the club members.

It is the intention of the club to establish the membership roster before the beginning of the skiing season and to maintain that membership roster throughout the season.  In other words, memberships are not shared among family members or among friends or acquaintances during the course of the season.

Memberships are not transferable during the season.  For purposes of the Membership Policy, the season begins on May 1st each year or sooner if the skier begins skiing before May 1st.  If circumstances arise during the season where a member is unable to continue in the club or chooses to leave the club, the membership reverts to the club.  The member cannot sell his or her membership to someone else.  No refunds of membership dues are provided under any circumstances.

Each skiing member shall pay a one-time Capitalization Fee of $300 when he/she first joins the club.

Each skiing member shall pay annual Membership Dues that are determined by the club and billed to the members in the Fall and in the Spring.

Each skiing member shall pay monthly Ski Ride Fees that are billed after each month based on sets skied during the month.  Each member shall record all sets skied in the log book retained in the boat for that purpose.

Each skiing member shall pay any special assessments that are approved by the club members and billed to the members by the club.

Each skiing member is responsible for making timely payments of all amounts billed. A late fee of $25 shall be assessed for any invoices not paid within 25 calendar days of the invoice date.  Additional late fees of $25 per month shall be assessed for any invoices that remain unpaid.  Renewal Membership Fees are billed in the Fall each year.  A late fee of $300 shall be assessed for any member who does not pay in the Fall, but decides to renew in the Spring (if that member’s place in the club is still available).

Only skiing members and members of the skier’s immediate family are allowed to drive the club owned boats.  Guests are not allowed to drive the club owned boats except that Guests who are Certified USA Water Ski Drivers are allowed to drive the club owned boats.  No one under the age of 16 is allowed to drive the club owned boats.

Everyone who skis or participates in any way (riding in the boat, helping on the dock) – skiing members, family members, and guests – must be an Active (Insured) member of USA Water Ski.

Skiing members, members of the skiers’ families, and guests shall abide by the rules regarding the use of the Pond premises that are included in the lease contract between the club and the landlord.  A copy of those rules is attached to this policy.

This policy is subject to review and modification at any time as needed and as determined and approved by the members of the Old Farms Skiers Water Ski Club.
